Waar? Square - Brussels Meeting Center Mont des Arts, Brussels
Wanneer? 21.03.2023 tot 24.03.2023
What has become the largest international congress in the field of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, ISICEM will welcome around 5000 intensivists and emergency physicians from around the world to Brussels.
ISICEM, organized by the Intensive Care Department of Brussels University Hospital (HUB) in collaboration with the Belgian Society for Intensive Care (SIZ), and held each year in Brussels, offers the opportunity to discover the very latest advances in intensive care and emergency medicine.
The formats of the different sessions at ISICEM are evolving, with presentations and lectures making room for demonstrations and hands-on sessions, sometimes in collaboration with the industry, to present monitoring devices or therapeutic interventions. High-fidelity simulation sessions are planned for the management of severe trauma, for extracorporeal circulation, and other areas.
The opening session will see the presentation of the results of several clinical studies for the very first time, results that will influence medical practice in the field of COVID-19, severe trauma and management of metabolic disorders associated with critical illness, and will be published in major scientific journals.
The rest of the program will be rich with discussion on other highly topical subjects, as well as essential updates on the management of cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, heart failure, acute renal and hepatic failure, and others: how can modern technology, including artificial intelligence, help monitor and manage patients more effectively and efficiently? How can we best use our limited resources? What have we learned from the COVID pandemic, not only from a clinical aspect, but also related to psychological support, need for follow-up clinics, ICU organization, how best to recruit and retain ICU nurses, and much more?
